Former Army Sgt. Robert Price suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and a brain injury after serving in the Middle East. He takes his service dog, Walker, with him everywhere, according to ABC affiliate WFTV-9.

While vacationing in Daytona Beach, Price notified the desk clerk at the Budget Inn Express that he had a service dog with him. The clerk told him they had a “no dogs allowed” policy.

The motel owner confirmed Price’s dog was no exception and even told him he “was not welcome” there.

“A dog is a dog,” owner Bina Patel told Price.

Florida law prohibits businesses from refusing service to people with service dogs, and can be charged with a misdemeanor if they fail to comply.

Price told WFTV it wasn’t the first time it had happened.

“Not only do I take it personal but I take it as a huge disrespect to all veterans out there,” he said.

Price recorded a raw video during the altercation, then later sat down with WFTV in an interview explaining what happened. Both videos from the news source have since been removed.
